Known Use Problems (KUP)

Learning from the past in a structured way is at the core of the KUP (Known Use Problems). Evaluating and gathering data from devices already in the market is required to establish, whether design modifications for a new and similar device are necessary before bringing the new device to market.

Learning from issues experienced by similar user interfaces is essential to manage risk early in the design of a new medical device. A Known Use Problems analysis can help discover and establish an overview of these issues. Obtaining the necessary information is essentially a data mining process involving customer complaint files and databases and the Usability Engineering experts have extensive experience within this area.

Our specialists can help clients conduct KUP for a broad range of devices to ensure that the required review of existing products in the market has been accomplished.
