Absolute Sustainability

Setting long-term targets for CO2 neutrality in 2050 is an increasingly common goal for many companies. But how can Pharma, Diagnostic and MedTech companies lay out a realistic pathway towards reaching this future goal?

Absolute sustainability is a relatively new term in the world of sustainability. While reducing the GHG footprint of a product by 20% may sound like an achievement, this is still a relative number. Absolute sustainability means working towards a world where the planetary boundaries (e.g. atmospheric CO2 levels) of the Earth are not exceeded. As of 2023, only three out of nine boundaries are below their critical threshold[1].

With a strong understanding of sustainability on the strategic level, we can help your organization create strategies for making the road towards absolute sustainability clear and actionable.
