Radiometer was about to launch a new generation of blood gas analyzers that were to be integrated with new sensor technology and based on a brand new platform. There were high demands for low cost, minimal crosstalk, high functional reliability, gas tightness and channels with small volume. To ensure a quick launch of the new range of products, MGS Design & Development was brought on board the project and actively participated in the development.

MGS Design & Development was involved in:
- Concept development, including an architecture that ensured low cost and high reliability
- Retail construction production
- Commissioning and optimization
The response time and the required blood sample volume have been more than halved compared to typical devices. In only 35 seconds, 17 parameters are determined from a sample of just 65 microliters of blood (about two drops). The unit is also very compact, with simplified maintenance and an intuitive touch screen for safe and simple operation.
